Sunday, Mar. 18th - Paden City was alerted Sunday morning to assist Co. 2 New Martinsville with a "working fire" in the southern portion of the New Martinsville Plaza. Co. 2 made a quick knock down of the fire which originated in the back of Fiesta Hair Care. Co. 4 assisted crews on-scene with ventilation and clean-up.

Sunday, Mar. 25th - Paden City was alerted early Sunday morning to respond to the Hundred area for a Hazmat Incident. Chief 4 requested Co. 3 - Grandview and Co. 12 - Wileyville be added for the Decon Assignment, the county also added Co. 9 - Reader for scene lighting with their rescue. Co. 6 Hundred and Wetzel County Officials had command. Scene was secured and crews performed there first decontaminations.
Wednesday, May 30th - Paden City volunteers were alerted for an accident north of Paden City near the Twin Bridges. Crews arrived 4 minutes after dispatch to find a two vehicle accident resulting from a jeep losing its front tire. Tuesday, May 22nd - Paden City volunteers voted to accept a bid from Matheny's GMC of Parkersburg for the replacement of the 1981 Van. The new truck will be a 2008 GMC Sierra Heavy Duty diesel complete with tow package. Due to special requirements the truck will not arrive in Paden City until late August. Once it arrives the truck will be painted in Company 4's two tone scheme and also receive lighting, radio's, and reflective striping.

Friday, May 4th - Paden City volunteers have been busy responding to a brush fire, three medical emergencies, and a motor vehicle accident over the last few days. Also crew have been attending local fire schools learning about new vehicle technology, hazmat operations level, emergency vehicle driving, and rapid intervention operations (training pictures coming soon).

VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON ROUTE 7
Sunday, July 1st - Paden City volunteers were alerted for an accident involving a motorcycle near Turkey Run on Route 7 to assist Wileyville Co. 12. Co.4 was dispatched due to Co. 2 being on scene of an accident with entrapment near Proctor. Rescue 6 and Engine 5 responded to assist Wileyville however, due to negative entrapment and one injury Co. 12 allowed Paden City to return in service. Rescue 6 operated on-scene for approximately 12 minutes before returning to the "river front".
Friday, Aug. 10th - Co. 4 was alerted Friday night to assist Co. 2 with a "Working" Structure Fire on Route 2 about a mile south of the Route 180 Intersection. N.M. Engine 209 arrived on-scene shortly after dispatch to find a 12' x 14' garage fully involved. N.M. Engine 202 and P.C. Engine 5 arrived seconds later and began an aggressive attack utilizing two 1 3/4" attack lines. The fire was under control about 5 minutes after arrival of Co. 2. A total of 22 firefighters responded to the incident, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
LIVE BURN TRAINING
Sunday, July 29th - Members of Co. 4, Co. 2 (New Mart.) and Tyler Co. Station 30 (Sistersville) participated in a two day training session with the new live burn trailer from the WVU fire services extension. Crews were able to practice multiple scenarios inside the trailer which featured movable walls, stairs, ventilation roof, and 3 different types of fires. Approximately 14 firefighters participated in the training, the trailer will be back in Wetzel County in October for the county fire school.
Tuesday, Aug. 7th - Company 4 was alerted a "Working" Structure Fire at 6:34 a.m. Crews from Engine 5, Engine 1 and Squad 4 arrived on-scene at 6:38 a.m. to find a room and contents fire located on the second floor of the structure. Crews where able to knock down the fire quickly utilizing an extinguisher backed up by a 1 3/4" Attack Line. Crews from Co. 2 arrived and began overhaul operations of the structure while the house was being ventilated by Co. 4 units. Paden City Command was terminated at 7:44 a.m. with all units returning in-service.
Friday, July 27th - Company 4 was alerted for an accident with unknown injuries on Route 180 near the intersection of Paden Fork Road. Rescue 6 arrived 5 minutes after dispatch to find a single vehicle into the embankment with two occupants. Passengers were checked by EMS and refused treatment, Co. 4 members controlled hazards and performed traffic control. Paden City Rescue 6, Engine 5, and Squad 4 operated on-scene with 12 units (4 additional units were on standby at station). Also on-scene were Wetzel Co. Squad 21 and Wetzel Co. Sheriffs Office.
Saturday, July 14th - Paden City volunteers were alerted for a "Working" Structure Fire on the 100 Block of N. 6th Ave. Co. 4 arrived on-scene 3 minutes after dispatch with Engine 5 and Rescue 6 to find a fully involved 2 bay garage approximately 5' from a residence. Units went into service protecting the exposures until additional crews could arrive from Company 4 and New Martinsville Co. 2. Thanks to a quick response the neighboring structures where saved however, the garage is a total loss. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
Friday, July 27th - Company 4 was alerted for an accident involving a Tractor Trailer vs. Electric Pole. Rescue 6 and Engine 5 responded shortly after dispatch with 7 personnel. Once on scene, units checked to ensure the contents of the truck were not compromised and a danger to the immediate public. Crews operated on-scene for approximately an hour before turning the scene over to Allegheny Power.
Wednesday, Apr. 18th - Paden City was alerted to assist Tyler Co. Station 30 (Sistersville) with a "working fire" off of Route 2 on Friendly Hill. Firefighters from Sistersville, St. Mary's, Paden City, New Martinsville, and Newport Oh responded on the alarm. The fire was located in an area with hydrants however low water pressure forced firefighter's to shuttle water to the scene via tankers. The structure is believed to be a total loss... click for more
