K-12 Saw- Also known as a "Demolition Saw" is used to cut
concrete, steel, and another materials that may be present at a fire or
rescue scene.
Cordless Sawzall- This piece of equipment is
vital in extrication and provides back-up to the hydraulic cutters in sawing
through the posts of the vehicle. This is also used extensively at
structure fires during overhaul or rescue situation.
20" Chainsaw- A chainsaw is a very versatile piece of
equipment in the fire service. Crews utilize the chainsaw to remove
trees from roadways and homes as well as ventilation of roofs during
structure fires to provide a safe atmosphere for interior firefighting.
Since the 1970's Paden City Volunteer Fire Company has
provided its citizens and surrounding areas with a dedicated Rescue
Truck. A Rescue Truck is essentially a rolling tool box to cover
any situation a fire department may encounter whether it be an accident
with entrapment, medical emergency, rope rescue, trench rescue, hazmat
incident, etc. In March of 2007, Paden City took delivery of its
3rd rescue in company history. The new truck was exclusively
designed for the needs of the area and equipped accordingly as Paden
City Vol. Fire Company is committed to providing the best available
equipment to its citizens that money can buy.

Jaws of Life- Paden City operates a large set
extrication tools revolving around the famous HURST Jaws of Life. Our
Tools consist of a 28" Spreader, O-Cutters, 60" Ram, 30" Ram, Ram
Accessories and Mini-Cutter. These tools allow us to completely
disassemble a vehicle of any size if the situation called for it, generally
in a severe crash, members will remove the doors and roof of the vehicle to
extricate the patient without causing further injury.
Air Bags- We currently utilize a 320 Ton High
Pressure Air Bag set that allows us to lift heavy objects off of a person.
These bags can be used to lift cars, steel beams, and even tractor trailers
off of trapped individuals.
Cribbing- Wood cribbing is the most vital part of the vehicle
extrication process. When we arrive on-scene of an accident we want to
prevent any further injury to the patients. Cribbing is used to make a
vehicle as sturdy as possible to reduce movement and vibrations during the
extrication of the patient. Paden City carries a variety of cribbing
including Wedges, Blocks, and Step Chocks.
Winch- This piece of equipment serves a very important role in
extrication and rescue. In the Paden City area there are many roadways
located on hillsides and often do not have guardrails. The winch
allows us to secure vehicles that may be located close to or over the
hillside after an accident. The winch is capable of of pulling 12,000
lbs.
Attack Line- This hose often referred to as a "Trash Line" is
used by firefighters to extinguish smaller fires such trash, brush, and even
vehicle fires. The hose is 100' long and is located in an easily
accessible location to prevent firefighters from having to climb up on the
apparatus thus preventing possible injuries.
